Head Start is a "free" preschool program for children whose parents meet federal income guidelines (see below.) Children ages 3 and 4 receive comprehensive preschool services in the areas of health, education, social services, and parent involvement.

Head Start consists of two programs: Home-Base and Center-Base services (8:30 am to 1:30 pm, 5 days/week). This federally-funded program serves children and parents in Burleigh, Emmons, Kidder, Logan, and McIntosh Counties. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged.

 Please complete and return the attached Head Start Application. Ninety percent of the families who enroll in Head Start fall within the following income guidelines and 10% of the families are over the income guidelines. All TANF and children's families who receive Foster Care payments are eligible regardless of family income. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
